In 1932 the Borough of Brentford and Chiswick was granted its Charter. In the same year the first mayor of the Borough, Councillor F.S. Hayburn was elected President of the Club at its Annual General Meeting, the
position which he held until his death in 1947.
In 1935 Councillor Hayburn presented the Club with the `HAYBURN CUP`.
This was to be presented each year to `A Cricketer and a Man` elected by all Club Members. The first recipients were jointly Lt Col Kitchingham (Chairman 1928 - 1946) and T.P.Dillon (Honorary Secretary 1928 - 1943) both of whom had done so much to establish the Club`s singular reputation during the 1930`s.
