Colts :: Guidelines for Junior Members and Parents
Guidelines for junior members and parents
Running our colts section involves a big commitment of time and effort from volunteers at the Club. It also requires the co-operation of parents and guardians for the smooth running of coaching and matches. These guidelines set out our expectations of junior members and parents, and what you can expect from us in return.
The Club will:
• Keep you informed of the times and dates of practices and matches.
• Let you know as soon as possible if your son is selected for a match, with details of time and place.
• Let you know as soon as possible if matches or practices are cancelled for weather or other reasons.
We expect parents/guardians to:
• Make sure players arrive promptly for practices and matches.
• Collect your child promptly at the end of practices – or ring to let us know if there is a delay.
• Ensure players are appropriately dressed for practices and dressed in whites for matches – for guidance please ask the Colts Manager.
Players and parents should at all times:
• Play within the spirit as well as the rules of the game.
• Never argue with officials or the opposition.
• Put the spirit of the game ahead of good results.
• Show sportsmanship by recognising and applauding good performances by team-mates and opponents.
• Never criticise team-mates for losing or making mistakes.
• Use correct and proper language at all times.
